Spooky Spiders - Halloween Crafting

Monday, September 28, 2015

As the kids have gotten a bit older, we've started doing more "crafts" (i.e 15 minutes of chaos & disaster, all in the name of being festive & creative) together. Crafts were where I really developed my love for design, so I love doing them with the kids and it's so fun to see what they come up with, what they're inclined to do, and how proud they are of their final product.

This particular project is super simple and doesn't involve paint, which is a win in my book.

What you'll need:
pipe cleaners | pom pom balls or something like | googley eyes | hot glue

What to do:
Take four pipe cleaners together, (any color combo you guys come up with!) and twist them in the middle. You'll end up with 4 legs on each side - just bend them down and shape them into whatever kind of legs you want - pointy, bent, dancing legs or stanky legs - all are acceptable ;)
Make sure they stand on their own. Now you're ready to glue the body on - pick a big pom pom ball and glue it to the intersection of the legs. Once you do this, you can really decorate however you like - one eye and a hat? three eyes and two pom pom ears? two eyes and a party hat pom? - yes! yes! yes!

In the words of Ina Garten (whom I ADORE) - how easy is that?!
