Winnie's First Birthday Party

Thursday, December 1, 2016

We had the best time celebrating our little tiny one (who's not so tiny anymore!) for her first birthday. She woke up to lots of balloons & confetti in her crib, we gave her a chocolate croissant for breakfast, took her to Nordstrom for new shoes (our birthday tradition!) and had a family dinner complete with confetti cake and candles to celebrate! Safe to say, she was very loved.

For those of you wondering what's in the box? We got her this & it's a hot commodity in the house now. :)
We celebrated her birthday with friends and family a few days later with a very cheery party! I struggled with a theme, as I wasn't ready to do christmas, but I was so over Halloween. So we just went with some fun colors, glitter and lots of confetti :)

I worked really hard to get all these photos (this has to be a record for the third child), so it was essential that I displayed them proudly ;)

I made these delectable ham & cheese sliders with a dijon glaze and still dream about their buttery, cheesy goodness. I'll share the recipe next week!

Baylor's Construction Party

Wednesday, June 15, 2016

Baylor was insistent on choosing the theme for his birthday party this year (We've done a red/white/blue theme for the past three years! :), and it started as a truck party, then turned to a garbage truck party and ended up finally being a construction party. The evolution of a 4 year olds brain - very complicated.

I turned to pinterest, like most basic white girls and gained some inspiration, saw some "hell-no-nevers" and overall had enough ideas to run with.

I made Baylor a little sign for his birthday (printed on a 20x30 at Costco!) with his favorite things & memories from the year. I had this easel from HomeGoods and just taped the print in there.

One of the biggest hits of the party was this work station I made. I used a piece of insulation foam from Home Depot and taped it to a piece of plywood. I bought some toy tools and golf tees and the kids had an absolute BLAST. Such an easy activity but really keeps there attention. We also set up our bouncy house, which was perfect for all the 4 year olds & their boundless energy.

We served food out of take-out boxes to match our theme. On the menu: buffalo & bbq drumsticks, salads, homemade mac & cheese , chips & grapes! All recipes are up on my pinterest board!

We used small paper bags for chips.
I used zigzag scissors to cut them down and printed them at home.

Everyone took a rock candy treat with them for the road. Because after a birthday party, we all need more sugar. ;)

Hats & Aprons to complete the look!

It was a perfect day celebrating our sweet boy! Speaking of tools...has anyone been watching Bachelorette? Homeboys are CRAY CRAY.

Pumpkin Painting Party

Friday, October 23, 2015

We hosted a litte Pumpkin Painting party this week with a few of Baylor's girlfriends (because there's a boy shortage around here!) - we let the kids go hog-wild on the pumpkins (and their faces if you're bellamy), they ate spooky snacks and run amok in the playroom for a solid hour. It was the perfect, festive way to spend a morning with friends. I love making these memories for the kids and always feel best at the end of the day when I invest in the kids.

Target has this HAND MADE MODERN craft brand that is SO great you guys - their paint colors are SPOT on and they have so many fun crafts and supplies.

Baylor's new favorite thing is having his face painted like a cat or dog. He pretty much asks every day. I obviously oblige. #winning

There's about a million ideas for Halloween treats & snacks on Pinterest, and honestly, they're all fairly easy! We did PB&J Spider Sandwiches, orange & black grape fruit skewers, mummy pumpkin muffins, ghost pretzel sticks, apple pie caramel apples (a tradition around here), and festive popcorn (always a winner).

The day after our party, Baylor woke up with tears in his eyes, and naturally, I asked him what the matter was. After a few sniffles, he confessed that he was upset it wasn't Christmas time yet. He's apparently had enough of Halloween and is ready for the next Holiday - a child after my own heart. Because holidays & being festive are WHERE IT'S AT.  :) So, we went to Home Depot and looked at Christmas trees and that filled his void for another couple weeks. Once Nov. 1 hits, shit's about to get crazy. #hohoho

Baylor's 3rd Birthday

Wednesday, June 24, 2015

We've had a whirlwind week or so around here - Baylor turning THREE(!), Father's Day, and the start of summer. Baylor's birthday is such a fun kick-off to summer and one of my favorite weeks/weekends of all.

For as long as I can possibly roll with it, Baylor will have a red, white & blue birthday party. Not only is it one of my favorites, but when all is said & done, I'm already decorated for 4th of July! #momwin

This year, we did a little gymnastics party (because 3 yr olds are CRAY CRAY) and did a little after party over here with treats, s'mores, more cake and adult beverages (who says 3 yr old birthdays have to be dry?!)

Happy Birthday, Baylor Boone! We love you!
